Morning Walk

Woke up early this morning because of the bright light vibrating through my window. I looked outside...snow! So I shot into my clothes and rushed outside. Walked around for 2 hours, shot a ridiculous amount of pictures, but I had fun, so that's what counts.

Foul weather, foul mood

A bit of an off day yesterday. Man, I was sad, angry and depressed at the same time. So I went out into the poring rain, grapped my camera on the way to the door and shot some depressing shots to match my mood...felt better after that...:)

Dark Heart, Strange Dreams

Somehow I feel like my heart is gonna burst with loneliness, heartace of what should have been. I'm not suppost to be this sad woman going nowhere, so totally lost I just don't know where to start. Heavy weigh the tears in my eyes, dark dark feelings stirring under my half smile. I'm ok, really I am fine, see me laughing...just don't hear the cracks of my soul falling to pieces. I'm falling to pieces...but please look the other way.

It's happening all over again and I am tired of fighting, somehow my boxing gloves were lost miles back on this lost road I am following. When I look back to when all was promissing, not a care in the world, so much talent...what could go wrong. And then I took a turn righ, left, right and lost my way. Dizziness is making my sight blurry while rain keeps crashing on my window while I put my foot down on the gas. I can't see a thing, just streaks of light and darkeness, so much darkness. Deep inside I hope I'll hit something solid, so I can stop falling. So sick of myself I wanna throw up, noone to blame but myself, all me, always me.

That sad bleak version of me I do not even recognize in the mirror. So full of selfpity, so desperate to belong, to put the blame on everybody else but myself and knowing it full well. This is not me, I am not this person looking back at me through a rainy reflection on my windowshield. Please wake me from my nightmare life, not again, just not again. "Please make it stop, anyone, just...".

A dark shape appears in front of my bumper strangely lit by my headlights, just a quick thought like "Oh well" a sickning skreaching sound that doesn't seem to be coming from the car, a shockwave, my head hitting something hard, glass flying around me, a buzzing sound and then nothing...just white nothingness...no sound, no smell.

I open my eyes and look around, I don't recognize the room I'm in, don't know the faces looking down on me, don't remember my name... A fresh start, a new beginning, no past, just now...

"I should be so lucky". The sound of my own voice wakes me, I gulp down air like a goldfish in need, open my eyes and it is again the start of a new day. Same old story, same old me, my own waking nightmare...to be continued...again.

Portrait Faces

Since a month or so I am following a class in portrait studio photography. It's real fun, sometimes a bit crowded, but a nice teacher, nice students and lovely models. I'm quite happy with the last couple of shots. Not much to tell in my private life except that I really hate my job at the moment. Can't wait to be out of there. But that is work and I have a couple of days off, so let me share my portaits...light and fun...

Flower Voyeurism

All of a sudden I am totally into the decaying flowers. Feeling a bit bored today and a bit sick to boot, I began to ambush my dried up roses. Sticking my lens and my nose in at close range (no thorns for me fortunately). I came up with a brand new theme...flower voyeurism. I like it, hope you do too.

The Beauty of a Dying Swan...

You can find beauty in many places even in death. Normally I'm not so fond of taking pictures of flowers, but this dying lily was too beautiful to go to a silent death without some remembrance.

Half full...not half empty

I've given a few people a scare with my last post. But I just wanna say...it's ok. Hayden had it right spot on. When you can crystalize it like I did a few days ago, you're ready for a change. And I have taken the first few steps. I bought a little book, glued a big smiley on it and I have promissed myself to write 5 good things about that day or about myself everyday. A 15 minute contemplation is not much on a 24 hour scale. And only the idea made my mind and creativity flow once more. Good things started to happen. Like a lovely phonecall with a photograper I really admire, who is a great fan of my work too. My first photograph just walked out off the door with a happy customer. My photoshoot last saturday went very well and so on and so on.
I've decided to look at life as "half full" instead of "half empty" it will take some practice, but life is just too short to become a grumpy old shrew...

Thanx Haden for your kind and uplifting comment, it lighted my way...:)

Diary Droodles...

I used to write in my diary almost every day from when I was very little till I was about 20 years old. When my mother started dying, when I moved out and started living on my own...something changed and I stopped writing or reflecting all together. In some periods after that I started again, mostly when I was in love or something like that. Strange enough I didn't write a word during the 6 year period of my former and only serious relationship up to date, maybe if I had, it wouldn't have lasted those 6 years, but that's easy to say now.

2007 started off to be a great year of body, mind and soul, but somehow, somewhere, I lost my way. I've always been a drifting kind of soul I think. Wondering from one place in my heart and head to the other, in love, in work, in direction of life in general and now this year also in friendship. While the year started good and smiling, it ended confused and a bit sad. This jumping from left to right, up and down is making me agitated, restless and frankly scared to death. I feel I can't continue in the way that I have, but don't know what I really want.

Everytime something begins to focus outof the blur of my life I get bored or scared or both and simply let my eyes wonder till I see the next project, the next course to follow. And every time I step away from my former path, I get more frustrated and feel that I am making the wrong turn, but still knowing I can't stay on the rocks that will help cross my river. Instead I jump in the freezing water once again and for a breef moment the cold flames my soul alive, till the freezing cold gets hold of my limps, my skin gets numb and I start climbing on the next rocks the river sends me and again start to jump, walk and climb to the other side.

I'm not doing well I guess. I'm trying, but it takes guts to make choices and I seem to be a coward that lets my river decide which way I have to turn everytime I close my eyes and jump in.

In a whole year I haven't written more then 8 pages in my diary. It is a special kind and a little book that made me smile when I bought it. 1 page for 1 day and at the bottom of every page a little blank picture where you have to draw smileys, tears etc. to indicate what kind of mood you're in today. 8 little droodles that show so clearly the weather of my year. I hope this year will bring me more insight, more courage to confront others and mostly myself. To look in the mirror and like myself again, it's been a while....

Painting with Light...the story continues...

I've been sick lately, sick with the flue, sick with my boss, sick of taking pictures. Luckely the last changed when I took out my camera one night and started to do what I like most... Taking pictures that almost noone likes or understands...but pictures that paint a smile on my face and that will have to be enough...for now.

For everyone who reads this before the fireworks start at 24.00 on the 31th of December...

"Happy 2008,
may your dreams be merry

and your backsack light..."

Painting with Light

Have been taking a lot of photo's lately and found a new topic of wonder...light at nigt...or painting with light. Just to be surprised and in stead of wanting to control everything. It's like being a kid again. An experiment to repeat, just for the fun of it...:)
